After a damp start, the Sunday Working Bee on Sunday, 29^th July, 2012 (including several volunteers of all ages) achieved excellent results in returning to the northern part of Furness Park adjacent to the southern end of Gardenia Street:

More than one of the worker bees commented that the weeding work at that site was easier than expected.  The old hands say this demonstrates the value of returning to a site often enough to prevent weeds re-establishing themselves to the point of domination.   The main planting work was of grasses.
