Our Working Bee on Sunday, 25^th August 2013 successfully weeded an area of the park we have under active regeneration.

If you couldn’t make the day, the next one is planned for Sunday, September 22nd.  More work is needed in the same area – so we’ll most likely be back there (watch for a posting).

Location:  Furness Park at the bottom of Gardenia Street.   

Activities:  Work consisted mostly of weeding with some new planting also.   The photo below shows part of the team doing some fine-detail weeding:

As you can see, the weed grasses are thick on the right of the weeding line compared to the fine natural mulch  (after weeding on on the left).
