Update April 2016:
- The external (unisex/disabled) toilet at the Kalang Pavilion has been opened as a public toilet on a trial basis for 12 months during daylight hours.
- This is the only public facility in the entire Blackburn Creeklands. It is located on the southern side of the pavilion at the eastern end facing the road.
Official Opening – 12th February, 2016
Representatives of the park advisory committee attended the official opening of the Kalang Oval Pavilion on Friday (12/2) evening by the Mayor.
This photo shows the mayor (Councillor Daw at right) with our local ward councillors Andrew Munroe and Denise Massoud displaying the plaque:
The Cricket Club President’s speech was carefully crafted and he spoke very well. From all accounts, the high quality sandwiches and other catering made the evening very worthwhile…
The oval now also has new signage in place:
The “look” of the sign is to Council’s new standard – and was approved by all and sundry.
Finally, dog walkers will also be pleased to know that the rubbish bin has been reinstated close to its original position near the pavilion.
