Gas Maintenance Works in Blacks Walk (Updated 4/12/2020)

UPDATE (4/12): We have been advised that the works will recommence on Tuesday (8/12) and will run until Thursday (10/12).

UPDATE (11/11): yesterday’s works were not completed. Problems arose concerning the location of a sewer main and further consultation with Yarra Valley Water is required. The will be returning – probably not for another month.

  • Dear Friends, we thought it best to let you know that significant gas maintenance works commenced in Blacks Walk today (10/11) – resulting in closure of the track between the pedestrian bridge and Pakenham Street.
  • The work zone is to the west of the Scout Hall – between the Scout Hall and the bridge and will involve heavy equipment and several vehicles.

  • The purpose of the work is to maintain infrastructure which acts against gas mains corroding.
  • Sorry we were not able to bring you better warning of the impending works. Our thanks to Nicky for her photos.
