Thursday Team – Plan for 7/12/2023

The plan for Thursday, 7th December, is to continue our maintenance weeding in Kalang Park along the main track north of the oval. Depending on numbers, we might dispatch a small group to finish off last week’s work at the Pakenham Street end of the car park beds abutting the main track. We can also do some leaf mulching as needed.

Our camp will be at the red X.

Last Week

I understand that we did some great work last week in KP-17 at the Pakenham Street end. Thanks Graeme and Megan for running the show in my absence… too bad they did such a good job of it!

Risks to highlight

  • Please bring water to maintain your hydration – especially given the warmer weather.
  • Don’t forget your sun protection (especially for the next few months!).
  • Mozzies are about in shaded spots and still-ish air – best to have bare skin protected. We have repellent available.
  • Wear appropriate clothes for the conditions – including a hat, long sleeves and closed-toe shoes.
  • Hi-vis clothes/vests are recommended especially given we will be working on the busy main track. Please take care when on/crossing the path to dump weeds etc.
  • There are stumps, branches, lumps etc that may present trip hazards and eye-hazards under twiggy shrubs etc. We have some safety glasses in the PPE bag if you feel you need them.
  • COVID (especially), flu and RSV are still aroundPlease don’t come if you have any symptoms.
  • No recent bull-ant incidents – but please be vigilant… Don’t ask me re bee stings!!!

Apologies: Graeme.
