Thursday 19/12 is our last working bee for 2024! After Thursday, we’ll resume the fun on the 9th of January, 2025! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all those not coming tomorrow!
As for Thursday 19/12, we’re back in Blacks Walk – in BW-32 – adjacent to the Garie Street playground and our boardroom table ! We should really have been back there a lot sooner – but I have been waiting for the neighbour to build his fence along the boundary (wherever that is!). The latter still seems to be in abeyance – but things in part of our site are getting out of control (at the back) – so we thought we’d better act anyway. I discussed this site with Karen before last week too – she’s happy to do a follow-up spray if need be. We’ll need to start on that side before the sun gets too high – not much protection there…
Last Working Bee
Our last “working bee” was very successful at getting rid of the prickles in Kalang Park adjacent the car park. A fantastic result!

Thursday will be sunny with no chance of rain.
Rain: There’s a 0% chance of rain.

Temperature: It should be a mild 14-24 degrees while we work. Bear in mind though that the sun is very strong at this time of year.
Thunderstorm Asthma: Low risk.

UV: up to 9, so sun protection is an absolute must. No cloud cover while we work. Note that the UV will rise from 1 to 8 between 10:00 and 11:00 – so we need to be working in shade after morning tea.

- Bull-ants are not recorded at the site – but they have been in Alan’s patch – so please watch out! …..
- Please bring water to maintain your hydration..
- The epidemic thunderstorm asthma forecast will operate during grass pollen season (01 October to 31 December).
- Wear appropriate clothes for the conditions – a hat, long sleeves and closed-toe shoes.
- Hi-vis clothes/vests are recommended.
- There are a few stumps, branches etc that may present trip and/or eye hazards. We have some safety glasses in the PPE bag if you feel you need them.
