For Thursday 12/6: we’re back to Furness now the watering of new young plantings crisis is (hopefully well) over ! We’ve got plants from last year (and maybe the year before) to tend up on the hill. Meet at the red X below:

Last Working Bee
Following the Sunday 1st June Community Working Bee, we undertook more watering and planted another ~40 plants – many filling empty holes left over from the CWB.
Other tasks done there included a start to weeding the overflow pond, weeding a bracken area a little further to the east (Cath’s suggestion) and weeding the future bed abutting the track down from Waratah Cres (to the east) of its emerging onions (dormant when the spraying was done).
Thanks to Megan for picking up extra plants. Special thanks too – to the bucket brigade for their hard work and to the fine-level weeders for their patience and persistence.
Conditions
(last updated 06:55 12/6/2025)
Tomorrow should be partly cloudy while we work.
Rain: There is a 5% chance of rain while we are working.
Storms/Weather warnings: There is a frost warning for the region early- hopefully, we’ll be OK up the hill by the time we start. There’s also the possibility of fog.
Temperature: It should be a COLD 5-11 degrees while we work because it will “feel” 2-3 degrees cooler. We suggest you dress for warmth such that you can peel off a layer as you warm up.
Wind: low strength NE/NNE winds.
UV: up to 1 while we work, so sun protection is not essential.
Cloud cover: is predicted to be 19% falling to 7% while we work.
EPA Air Quality: Good !!!!
SunSmart no longer recommends sun protection…
