Become a Friend of the Blackburn Creeklands…
Friends of the Blackburn Creeklands are people who value the Creeklands and who would like to receive notification of events and issues of interest via e-mail. We currently have about 360 Friends registered.
Typically, we send 1 or 2 e-mails a month to our Friends on news about the park and related matters. Of course, the communications are two-way – Friends let us know of interesting happenings or matters of concern in the park too! Several also send us photos of interesting subjects they notice in the park – we publish many in our monthly newsletter.
Your support and participation as a Friend is invited, needed and valued.
There is no formal membership, cost or obligation – although we hope you might assist at an occasional working bee if you are able. To register as a Friend, please complete the form below to submit it to the Advisory Committee:
Note: Personal contact details will be used exclusively by the Blackburn Creeklands Advisory Committee and will not be passed on to anyone else. Friends may unsubscribe at any time.
Existing Friends should use our Contacts page us to ask questions, pass on information of interest to other Friends, suggest items for newsletters, advise changes to their e-mail address etc etc.
Friends Group Growth
As at the end of the 2023/2024 fiscal year, the trend over the past five years shows we are continuing to grow by 30+ “friends” per annum on average. Obviously we have some natural attrition as people leave the area or change e-mail addresses without letting us know, so we must have averaged 35+ new registrations per annum.
Some new folks come from our events such as the bird surveys or community working bees – others from referrals from their personal friends and family etc. We also have several “old” friends who want to stay in touch – even though they may have left the area.
Everyone who has an interest in the park is welcome!
